The Wraparound council is a collection of agencies serving youth and family needs in Northfield and New Trier Townships. The council meets the second Tuesday of every month to discuss proposed plans for comprehensive service for families and/or children in need. Wraparound plans can be presented by social workers from local schools, Youth Services staff or any member of the council who has a client in need. The council decides whether or not to approve funding for services to the child or family and is an excellent resource for additional ideas and stratagems for assisting client’s needs. Approved Wraparound plans secure funding for services to the client for 3 months, and must be renewed after the completion of the 3 months. At each subsequent renewal, the council will discuss and evaluate the services in place and assess their effectiveness. Funding for services comes from the State of Illinois through DCFS and ISBE.
