Small Group Activities are designed to assist children with their peer interaction by providing fun, safe and healthy environments for them to play with other kids. Small group activities generally involve two to three children matched up by common interests and age, and their therapeutic mentors or counselors going out into the community and working on social skills. The small group allows children a comfortable setting where they can work on one on one peer interaction, while a Youth Services Youth Worker is able to observe them and help out if the children get stuck. Children then process the interaction later with their Youth Worker, examining what worked well and what skills they could continue to augment.
